- New Zealand had to toil hard! The wicket is offering some purchase but Lanka have batted really well. They need to continue to be disciplined and hit the right lines. Stem the run flow a touch to build pressure and that might bring a wicket which they desperately need. Another good session for Lanka can well take the game far away from the visitors. A couple of wickets quickly will get them right back into the contest. Join us for the all important third session in a bit.
- A solid session for the hosts, they have not lost a wicket and have stretched their lead to one short of a 100. Both Karunaratne and Chandimal are amidst a 100-plus stand, both have crossed fifties and their side will hope they can keep the good work going after the break.
