Mumbai, May 2, 2025: Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) traded higher on Friday after the company reported a strong 19% year-on-year growth in overall auto sales for April 2025, including exports. The upbeat performance, particularly in the utility vehicles and commercial vehicles segments, reinforced investor confidence and drove the stock price upward.

M&M Stock Rises on Positive Sales Data

On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), M&M shares were trading at ₹2965.20, up ₹40.00 or 1.37% from its previous close of ₹2925.20. The stock opened at ₹2956.60 and hit an intraday high of ₹3000.00 and a low of ₹2942.90. A total of 28,996 shares were traded during the session.

Classified under the BSE Group ‘A’, the stock has shown robust performance over the past year, touching a 52-week high of ₹3276.30 on February 10, 2025, and a 52-week low of ₹2159.10 on May 13, 2024. The company currently holds a market capitalization of ₹3,69,800.60 crore.

April 2025 Sales Breakdown

Mahindra & Mahindra reported total auto sales of 84,170 units in April 2025, marking a 19% increase compared to April 2024. The surge was primarily driven by the performance in the Passenger Vehicles (PV) segment.

• Utility Vehicle Sales (Domestic): 52,330 units, up 28% from 41,008 units in April 2024

• Commercial Vehicle Sales (Domestic): 22,989 units

• Exports and Other Sales: Contributed to the overall 84,170-unit figure

The robust performance in the domestic market reflects the company’s consistent market demand and strong portfolio in the utility and commercial vehicle segments.

Institutional Backing and Market Outlook

M&M continues to attract strong institutional interest, with institutions holding 68.15% of the equity. Promoter holding stands at 18.45%, while non-institutional investors hold 13.38%.
