As Jimmy Kimmel harped on how terrible the election night was, he took a pause to fight back tears as he spoke about how terrible Donald Trump's presidency means for America. "Last night we had the choice between a prosecutor and a criminal and we chose the criminal. More than half of the country voted for Donald Trump. It turns out the election wasn’t rigged even though he said it was," Jimmy Kimmel said.
Kimmel opened his show with an act where he's preparing the leave the US because he's not sure whether he is there on Donald Trump's list of enemies or not. He said one minute there is this long line waiting for vote and the next minute an Arizona voter tells a reporter that he's going to vote for Donald Trump because Kamala Harris did not go to the Joe Rogan interview. "I was like where's my passport," Jimmy Kimmel said. Kimmel said his kids were very upset that Donald Trump won and then he received anxious texts from friends who suddenly suffered from diarrhea. "Diarhea was all-time high in the US yesterday," Kimmel said.
"It was a terrible night last night. It was terrible night for women, children, for the hundreds and thousands of the hardworking immigrants who make this country go (pause)..for healthcare, for science, for journalism, for justice, for free speech..." Jimmy Kimmel said fighting back tears.
Kimmel said it was a bad night for those who voted for Donald Trump; just that they didn't understand it. It was a 'disaster of a night' for Melania, Kimmel said. It was only a good night for Putin, polio and lovable billionaires like Elon Musk, Kimmel said.
"I will say something that Trump would never say unless it favoured him. People voted and this is the choice we made. In January, Donald Trump becomes the president and that's that. He won. That doesn't mean we give up and that doesn't mean we storm the Capitol because we don't like the result," Kimmel said.
He said he tried to find something positive about Donald Trump winning the election and what he found out is that probably this is needed to wake the US up. "And he can't run again 2028," Kimmel said.
