MAGA activists like Laura Loomer, Meghan McCain called out NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani for his war against billionaires and said Mamdani is not what he pretends to be, he went to elite schools, lives like royalty Uganda and also in New York. Calling Mamdani a 'nepo baby', Laura Loomer posted: "Your mom lets you stay in her $2 million condo in Chelsea. Why are you pandering? You are rich. You are a nepo baby."
"His mom is a multi millionaire. He is far from working class. He went to elite schools his whole life. Lived like royalty in Uganda and South Africa too. He's a liar," Loomer said.
"I will never get the mindset of someone coming here, his family becoming millionaires in Hollywood and academia and then saying - you know what, everything about the system that worked for my family in America is trash and needs to be more like a 3rd world autocracy," Meghan McCain said.
"Zohran Mamdani’s mother is a multi-millionaire film director. His father is a millionaire Columbia professor. He attended a 60k/year school where all his classmates were fellow children of millionaires," one viral post read.
Mamdani's victory in the primary of the NYC mayoral poll sent the GOP into a major meltdown. Questions are being raised over his US citizenship, his association with any proscribed group.
Born to Indian- and African-origin parents, Mamdani came to the US in 1998 and became a citizen 20 years later -- in 2018. The mayoral election is not the first he is contesting; he was first elected to the New York State Assembly in 2020, defeating four-term incumbent Aravella Simotas in a Democratic primary. He was reelected without opposition in 2022 and 2024. But the mayoral election brought to the front row of the US politics as he will become the first Asian and the first Muslim mayor of New York City if he wins the November election.
