The Democratic candidate joked that if anyone were to break into her house, they would get shot, before quickly backtracking and saying she probably should not have said that, adding that her "staff will deal with that later."
This isn’t the first time Harris has highlighted her gun ownership . During her debate only debate with Donald Trump, she similarly mentioned, “This business about taking everyone's guns away — Tim Walz and I are both gun owners. We're not taking anybody's guns away, so stop with the continuous lying about this stuff.” Harris, who owns a handgun for personal safety, aims to bridge the divide between supporting stricter gun regulations and appealing to gun owners.
