MP government will take all steps to protect IPR in view of future challenges: CM Yadav

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday said his government will take all possible steps to protect intellectual property rights in view of complex challenges in the future. In the coming days, challenges will arise regarding determination of intellectual property rights of research, inventions, ideas and formulas of medicines and questions will come up about protection of such knowledge, he said.

"In the future, we will have to face different challenges to protect intellectual property rights. This subject is as complex as it is important. These new challenges will obviously increase the burden of cases on the judiciary ," Yadav said at the inaugural ceremony of a colloquium organised here on the subject of intellectual property rights.

"The state government will take all possible measures to deal with these challenges by working hand in hand with the judiciary on the basis of its suggestions," he added. Supreme Court Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari was the chief guest at the colloquium.

It was addressed by Justice Satish Chandra Sharma of the Supreme Court and newly appointed Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court Suresh Kumar Kait. At the event, speakers stressed on taking necessary measures to protect intellectual property rights in view of cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI).

The colloquium will continue for two days and judges from across the state are participating in it.
