This Halloween was not different for the WNBA player A'ja Wilson, who chose a Proud Family-themed costume that showed part of her creative talent. She has never turned aside spooky season participation, no matter if it is through a fun group costume, a sophisticated one or a tribute to pop culture of the past.
A'ja Wilson has been pretending to be one of the six characters of the classic animated series 'Recess' for several years on her Instagram account. She took "Scooby-Doo" as her inspiration in 2022. The diva wore the same title costume as in her previous Halloween costumes.
A’ja Wilson channels her playful side with another bold and nostalgic Halloween transformation
A'ja Wilson is just one of many players that take their time dressing up for Halloween. A'ja Wilson and other people costumed as characters from the anime series The Proud Family are depicted in the split comparison.
Emphasizing the creative costume tribute, she wrote on Instagram:
“A’ja Wilson dressed as characters from ‘The Proud Family’.."
Five ladies look like cartoon characters by dressing up in similar outfits and striking the same poses. They all wear bright and vintage-like clothes, which include pastel skirts, red cardigans, blue and yellow accents and wigs and sunglasses, and they also have the same color as the animation characters.
The first animated characters of The Proud Family are presented in a school. Their attire and positions closely resemble those of A'ja Wilson and her group in the top picture.
A'ja Wilson has a custom of dressing up for Halloween. She used to dress up as some of the most recognizable cartoon characters. Last year, Wilson dressed in five different costumes for Halloween. She dressed up as each of the five characters from the well-known animated series "Codename: Kids Next Door."
She donned a crimson long-sleeved shirt and black sunglasses as Nigel Uno/Numbuh 2. As Hogarth Pennywhistle "Hoagie" Gilligan, Jr./Numbuh 2, Wilson wore a blue shirt and an aviator cap. The Aces star wore a green jumper and carried a stuffed teddy bear for the role of Kuki Sanban/Numbuh 3.
Wilson wore blue jeans, an orange jumper and a blonde wig while dressing as Wallabee "Wally" Beetles/Numbuh 4. To complete the main cast, the All-Star wore a blue top and a red cap for Abigail "Abby" Lincoln/Numbuh 5.
The WNBA superstar teases fans with a vibrant Halloween surprise that blends her love for hoops and the spooky season
A'ja Wilson has just completed one of the most remarkable seasons in WNBA history. She not only led the Vegas Aces, who captured their third title in four years, but also received the MVP award for both the regular season and the finals.
Her first-ever Nike trademark basketball shoe, which came in dozens of eye-catching colorways that reflected her personality, heritage, and accomplishments on the hardwood, was an instant success.
Now, just in time for Halloween, Nike is releasing a gorgeous new colorway of Wilson's first hoop shoe that will have those of us who enjoy Spooky Season totally thrilled.
On Wednesday, October 22, at 10:00 a.m. EST, the Nike A'One "Candy Corn Queen" colorway will be available. The shoes are available exclusively on Nike.com for $115 in adult sizes and $100 in large child sizes.
