Elon Musk-owned X (formerly Twitter) experienced a downtime earlier today. X users across the world reported facing problems with the microblogging platform. According to Downdetector.com – the website performance tracking tool, nearly 6,000 users globally reported issues with the social media platform. Of these, 57% faced trouble accessing the app, while 38% reported issues with the website. The outage started around 11:30pm IST last night, reaching its peak at 1:16am IST. While reports have declined since morning, the issue continues to persist for some users.

In a post, X's Engineering account shared:
“X is aware some of our users are experiencing performance issues on the platform today. We are experiencing a data center outage and the team is actively working to remediate the issue.”
However, the post was shared almost 8 hours ago. There has been no update from the company since then.

X users in India were also impacted by the outage, though not as major as other users worldwide. A maximum report of 266 were registered on Downdetector India website. Currently, only 100 reports are visible on it.

Another user wrote: “OMG??? Where do we even go when twitter is down? Everybody is coming to twitter always 😭It works on browser but this is stupid like they should pay me and i will fix it”.
“Twitter is breaking down extra hard now and DM's are totally gone, but hey at least we don't have DEI hires anymore!,” said another user.
