Apple may soon launch new Apple TV and HomePod Mini

Apple may be gearing up to launch updated versions of its Apple TV and HomePod mini as early as this month, according to a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The tech giant is reportedly planning an overnight retail store refresh on November 11, a move that often signals the arrival of new products. In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman noted that Apple retail employees have been instructed to prepare for after-hours changes to store displays and inventory. While the update could be part of the company’s annual holiday merchandising push, the tight supply of current Apple TV and HomePod mini models suggests that refreshed versions may be imminent.

What to expectWhile Apple has not officially confirmed any new hardware, the rumored updates are expected to be modest refreshes rather than major redesigns. The new Apple TV may feature improved performance and efficiency, possibly incorporating the latest Apple silicon chips. The HomePod mini could receive enhanced audio capabilities or expanded smart home integration, aligning with Apple’s broader push into AI and connected devices. These products are also expected to play a key role in showcasing Apple’s upcoming “Apple Intelligence” initiative, which includes a revamped Siri powered in part by Google’s Gemini AI model. The new hardware could serve as a platform for demonstrating these AI enhancements in the home environment.

Launch timing and strategyAlthough Gurman suggests a November launch is possible, he also cautions that the new devices may not arrive until early 2026. Still, the timing of the retail refresh—just ahead of the holiday shopping season—makes a near-term release plausible.

Apple has a history of quietly launching minor hardware updates via press releases, especially for products like Apple TV and HomePod that don’t typically warrant a full keynote event. If the new models are indeed ready, they could be announced in a similar low-key fashion.

The potential launch of these devices comes as Apple continues to expand its smart home ecosystem and integrate AI more deeply into its product lineup. With competitors like Amazon and Google pushing forward with their own smart displays and assistants, Apple’s next moves in the living room could be critical to maintaining its edge.
