Dallas Maverick’ NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki seemed pretty excited when he saw WNBA player Paige Bueckers play in Texas. While he was watching the Dallas Wings play against the Seattle Storm on Monday night, he praised Paige Bueckers on her skills and said she he’s looking forward to seeing what she can do.
A moment of pride for Paige Bueckers
It could be termed as a moment of pride for WNBA champ Paige Bueckers, who plays for Dallas Wings. In what turned out a supportive cheer from NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki, was a little praise for the young star.
While speaking to ESPN, he said, "It's going to take a while to, obviously, get used to the physicality in the WNBA, but I think [Bueckers has] got the talent. She's going to be amazing for us.”
Further, Nowitzki also explained how "She's just going to get better from game to game, from season to season. You already can see now she's gotten more comfortable out there from game one. She's going to be tremendous for this organization for a long time."
Dirk Nowitzki also spoke about how Wings and Mavericks have been able to find themselves in draft lotteries and the teams have been doing good. He said, "It's great to have good young talent come in for your franchise, In most cases, it can turn your franchise around, so hopefully that's the case in both teams."
Dallas Mavericks finds itself in a tough spot
Now that the Dallas Mavericks are heading into the off season, they are facing issues, as they need a new point guard. The issue pertains because their star player, Kyrie Irving, had to undergo CL surgery, and reports suggest he won’t be back until January.
For the team, currently, the only other guards on the team are Jaden Hardy and Brandon Williams. But, that’s not enough for a team hoping to win a championship. In the playoffs, it’s important to have several strong ball-handlers, like the Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets pulled off.
The Mavericks are in a tough spot due to money. The team doesn’t have much room to spend this offseason. So far, the team added Caleb Martin and Max Christie in trades, which cost them $16 million, and they also gave Hardy a contract extension worth another $6 million.

So, bringing in a good player through free agency will be very hard. Most likely, the Mavericks will need to make a smart trade to get the kind of point guard they need.
