The India's Got Latent controversy which shook the country last February 2025 is still ringing bells all over social media, one of its brightest stars, Apoorva Mukhija alias The Rebel Kid, now finally speaking out on the issue in more intimate and contemplative ways.

Apoorva last month posted a raw and emotional confession video as a reaction to the controversy that had implicated her. The video soon went viral, commanding huge attention and leading to very widespread discussion. Today, with more than 1 crore views, the clip remains one of the most discussed digital moments of the year.

Apoorva was seen in Mumbai on Monday evening, where she had a frank chat with the paparazzi. Breezily dressed but exuding quiet confidence, she wasn't hesitant to discuss the tempest she went through.

"Pehle toh main tum logon ko bulaati thi, koi nahi aata tha. Ab bina bulaye aa gaye ho," she stated with a half-smile, referring to the sudden media buzz surrounding her.

When asked to talk about her fans and whether she had a message for them, Apoorva visibly teared up. "Bohot royi hoon main iss phase mein. Aur rona chahiye… dil halka hota hai," she revealed. She spoke of the need to let go of emotions and turn to true friends in bad times.

In a testament to strength of self-awareness, when asked if she had known she was wrong, Apoorva answered, "Sir, kaise kaise sawal puch rahe ho. Sach toh mai nahi bol sakti hu na. Fir bhi, mujse galti ho gayi, mujhe maaf karo." She continued, "Gali galoch bilkul nahi karni chahiye. Koi mat kiya karo," highlighting the value of polite discourse even in opposition.

When the discussion shifted towards how she deals with negativity, Apoorva replied graciously: "Main us taraf dhyan nahi deti. Main uske baare mein sochti hi nahi." Her breezy demeanor was a far cry from the online outrage she had found herself in the eye of once.

The most poignant moment, though, came not on tape, but on her Instagram story during the evening hours.

Apoorva shared a screenshot of a message from her mother congratulating her on the viral popularity of her confession video. Drenched in gratitude, Apoorva wrote:
"My mom is the best thing that God has given me, honestly. I will never be able to say ki meri kismat kharab hai because I really, really won the lottery with my mom."

She went on:
"She looks at YouTube 7-8 times a day just to see when I reach a million. I didn't even realize ki mere ek million hone wale hain, but whenever I reach a milestone, she always, always notices and is the first one to congratulate me. My mom really is the definition of 'she clapped so hard, I didn't notice who didn't.'"

From controversy to clarity, Apoorva Mukhija's journey is not only a digital spectacle—it's a very human tale of transformation, vulnerability, and unshakable family support. As she goes on to lead her public life, one thing remains certain: Apoorva is changing, and she's doing it without going alone.
