Ranchi: A broker allegedly extorted money from a patient under the pretense of expediting a CT scan at Rims.
The officer in-charge of the Rims police station, Manoj, said, "A resident of Barhet in Sahebganj, Sonu Kumar, claimed that he was approached by one Kaushal Kumar Mandal alias Kaushal Raj. The broker charged him Rs 3,000 for getting the work done quickly and sent him to do the scan using fake papers, forged signatures, and a counterfeit doctor's seal."
Rims public relations officer Dr Rajeev Ranjan said, "We are not aware of the matter. If a complaint has been lodged at the police station, a probe will be carried out by them."
