Kochi: Ernakulam rural police, who seized over 24kg of ganja concealed inside 200 metallic bicycle pumps, have identified an Odisha native as the supplier of the contraband. Police had arrested four individuals, natives of Murshidabad in West Bengal, in connection with the seizure.
Police said the Odisha native sold the drug at a rate of Rs 2,000 per kg. A senior officer said police have information about the Odisha native who sold the drug and he will be arrested soon. As there was increased surveillance at railway stations as part of Operation D-Hunt, the accused got down from the train in Coimbatore and travelled to Ernakulam in a bus. They were nabbed when they reached near Angamaly in an autorickshaw. They posed as bicycle pump sellers, with the pumps filled with ganja, said police. TNN
