Kochi: City CBSE schools had reason to celebrate after the Class X and XII board exam results were announced on Tuesday. Most schools reported a 100% pass percentage, with improved overall performance compared to last year.

Schools in the city fall under the Thiruvananthapuram CBSE region, which recorded a 99.79% pass percentage in Class X and 99.32% in Class XII. Deepa Chandran, president of Kochi Metro Sahodaya—a consortium of 70 CBSE schools in the city and suburbs—said the results showed significant improvement compared to previous years. "More students passed, and the number of A1 grades increased. Many even scored full marks in the Class X physics paper, which was considered challenging," she said.

Individual schools reported remarkable achievements. At The Choice School, 174 of 179 Class XII students secured distinction, with 87 scoring above 90%. In Class X, 179 out of 194 students earned distinction grades.

TOC H Public School, Vyttila, reported that 93.17% of its 161 Class XII students scored distinction, with 55.9% securing above 90%. In Class X, 187 of 202 students earned distinctions.

Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vaduthala, also posted excellent results, with 96.5% of its 141 Class XII students securing distinctions. In Class X, 125 of 140 students earned distinction.

Rajagiri Public School, Kalamassery, achieved 100% pass results in both Class X and XII. Among Class XII students, 68 secured A1 grades in all subjects, while 143 scored 100 marks in various subjects. Reehan Joseph Mathews, a Class XII student, scored 499 out of 500 (99.8%). "By completing schoolwork within school hours and promptly clarifying any doubts due to my JEE coaching, I efficiently managed my time. To be honest, I was quite surprised by my results," he said.

At Naipunya Public School, 125 of 232 Class X students scored above 90%, and 55 secured full marks in individual subjects. Class X topper Dion Dipu, who also scored 499 out of 500, credited his success to a calm and stress-free exam approach.

At Vidyodaya School, Thevakkal, among the 149 Class X students who appeared for exams, 132 (88.6%) secured distinction grades. In Class XII, 119 out of 127 examinees (93.7%) earned distinctions.
