Aizawl: A civil defence drill was conducted in Aizawl on Wednesday to test preparedness for air raids, power blackouts, and civilian evacuations. The exercise was part of a nationwide initiative, held simultaneously across 243 civil defence districts, reports H C Vanlalruata.
The mock drill took place between Akashvani Aizawl station in Tuikhuahtlang and Aizawl Civil Hospital in Dawrpui, with an air raid siren sounded from the DC office at Treasury Square at 11 am. Vital installations were camouflaged with leaves to simulate defensive measures against aerial attacks by enemy aircraft.
