The South Africa women's cricket team created history in the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup by ending Australia's dominance in the tournament to reach the final for a second consecutive time and avenge their defeat in the 2023 final.Australia had won each of the the last three edition and today's result means that for the first time since 2016 when West Indies lifted the trophy that the Southern Stars will not be crowned champions. The 2024 edition will be the first time since the inaugural event in 2009 that Australia will not play the final.
