Jharkhand, Maharashtra Announce One-Day State Mourning to Pay Tributes to Ratan Tata, Are Schools Closed?

Maharashtra and Jharkhand Government have declared a day of mourning to pay tributes to industrialist Ratan Tata. Industrialist Ratan Tata died at age 86 in a Mumbai hospital on Wednesday, October 9.Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced that national tricolour will be flown at government offices as a sign of mourning. Official statement released by CM Office reads that there will be no entertainment events on Thursday. One must know that Ratan Tata's mortal remains will be kept at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in south Mumbai from 10 am to 4 pm on Thursday for people to pay their respects. His last rites will be performed in Worli area of Mumbai later today.Also Read: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren also announced a one-day state mourning to condole the demise of Tata Group's chairman emeritus and veteran industrialist Ratan Tata. A post by Cief Minister on platform X reads, "A one-day state mourning has been declared following the demise of former chairman of Tata Group and Padma Vibhushan Shri Ratan Tata ji, who gave world recognition to a backward state of the country like Jharkhand." One must know that Tata Steel chose Jamshedpur as India's first industrial city.

Ratan Tata Death: Are Schools Closed?As of now there is no information on schools being closed today. Chances of schools being closed are very less. Students and parents are advised to be in touch with respective schools for latest and accurate update on school holiday. Schools in various parts of India are closed today and tomorrow to celebrate Dussehra. The schools will now reopen on Monday, October 14.(With inputs from PTI, ANI)
