The incident happened on March 19, 2024, in Ashton Way, Ranking County, Mississippi. Deputies were called to the location and they found Gregg's stepfather, Heath Smylie, wounded. Heath Smylie told the police that he found her wife dead at the house and her stepdaughter attempted to shoot at him, too. Gregg pleaded not guilty to the charges during her first court appearance, and her bond was set at $1 million.
