So far, 15 stores have been confirmed for the Cotswolds Designer Outlet in Ashchurch, including Calvin Klein, Samsonite and Under Armour, as reported by . Job adverts suggest a July start date, although official statements cite summer 2025 for the first stage of the two-phased opening. Once fully open, it is expected to create around 500 jobs across 90 retail and leisure units, although there will be space for up to 76 stores after the first phase.
Capacity will greatly increase with the expansion of the car park in phase two, which will almost double to 2,200 spaces, with electric charger points and a picnic area.
Jack Chami, project lead for the site's main contractor, Bouygues UK, confirmed that construction is progressing well, led by developers Robert Hitchins.
He said: "It's great to see how far we've come in just over a year on site. Every element of construction is on display with internals, envelope and roof works progressing well."
It forms part of a larger 250-acre development with the construction of more than 1,000 new homes in the region.
Persimmon Homes and Charles Church will build some 850 homes, and Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes will start construction on 460 more in 2025.
