Last week, insiders claimed that new producers David Heyman and Amy Pascal will decide the next James Bond director this summer.
Once the filmmaker is locked in (several are currently pitching in London), a script will be penned, and only then will the next 007 star be chosen.
The latest scoop is that Rebel Ridge star Aaron Pierre is in the running, which is probably why his odds of being cast have been slashed by 75 per cent in the last couple of days.
Coral's John Hill announced, "Aaron Pierre is a big mover in our James Bond betting over the last 48 hours. His odds have collapsed from 12-1 into 3-1, and he is now one of the front runners for the role along with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Theo James."
Take it all with a pinch of salt, but also "in the running" are: 5-4 Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 5-2 Theo James, 3-1 Aaron Pierre, 5-1 Henry Cavill, 8-1 Jack Lowden, 10-1 James Norton, 12-1 Tom Hardy, 14-1 Callum Turner, 25-1 Idris Elba, 25-1 Lucien Laviscount.
