Jeremy Kyle was so bored of Chancellor Rachel Reeves' latest budget speech that he began to eat biscuits and sip tea halfway through - and at one point even interrupted to sing a song. The TalkTV anchor had to be reminded he was live on-air while the Chancellor "droned on", as he suggested cutting to an ad break midway through.
With a mouth full of food, Jeremy joked: "I reckon we could go to an ad break, 'cause we've got Zia Yusuf, and come back and she'll still be droning on. I'm done, can I get a cup of tea, seriously, and a headache tablet? What in the name of the lord?"
As Reeves continued, he interjected with jibes like: "Just tell us the truth, love!" And "Seriously love, can you just get to the point?"
At one point he sing-songed: "Soon I'm going to tax you!" before reading out some comments from viewers, one of which read: "What a load of crap from Rachel Thieves. Just resign, you moron."
Jeremy was told by Andy from Heysham - who he sang a witty song about - that he was "still on-air", remarking: "I know! I'm just trying to get through it."
Then came a comment from Geoff, who said: "Who writes these stupid Labour captions on the podium? I've got one, it says 'Labour do one, you're awful'. I believe Thieves about as much as the BBC in terms of sense, what a load of rubbish."
