Glastonbury Festival 2025 has well and truly swung open its gates to festival-goers who have no doubt brought with them waterproofs, snacks and a seemingly endless supply of wet wipes.

The first of around 200,000 revellers began to pour into Worthy Farm, Somerset, on Wednesday morning for an array of music, entertainment and food stalls over the weekend.

Big names such as Charli XCX, The 1975, Neil Young, Olivia Rodrigo, Biffy Clyro and The Prodigy are all scheduled to perform on the festival's numerous stages from Friday June 27 - Sunday June 29. With tickets priced at £370, it's certainly not a budget-friendly weekend - and after seeing the cost of beverages at the festival's bars, some fans are less than thrilled.

A staggering 91 bars are present at Glastonbury this year, according to Glastopedia. Some are branded, like the Aperol Spritz bar which will be serving up the famous orange drinks, while the majority will offer the traditional selection of beers, ciders and spirits.

However, fans have been expressing their views after spotting one of these typical bar menus on social media. In a photo taken by a festival attendee, it's revealed that a pint of Brothers Pilsner is priced at £6.95, or £3.50 for a half, reports Somerset Live.

A pint of Brothers Festival Cider carries the same price tag, with Stonewall Inn IPA (draught) costing even more at £7.20 for a pint.

Festivalgoers have been vocal about the steep pricing at Britain's largest German Christmas market, with many noting significant hikes from the previous year. Comments on social media range from outrage to accusation, with one Facebook user calling the situation 'absolutely disgusting' and another claiming they felt 'robbed'.

"Wow, that's expensive," remarked a disappointed fan, while another couldn't believe that "£6 for a can of brothers which is like £1.50 in Tesco."

Discussions spilled over onto Reddit as well, where attendees criticised the cost of non-alcoholic beverages. One shocked festival enthusiast noted: "Pint prices are as expected, but £3 for half a pint of coke. Sheesh. Wonder if the stalls will be better value."

Yet, some festival-lovers on TikTok take a different view, suggesting the prices are par for the course at such events. One person appeared quite content saying: "Ngl I would be happy with that," and another felt it was actually reasonable: "I've seen worse.

"There's fair enough for me.. they pay a fortune to get a stand at these festivals... and there no more than an average pub really," wrote another hopeful music admirer.

So, what's the best deal for booze hounds at Glastonbury?

For those looking to stretch their sterling, savvy beer buffs have pinpointed the Burrow Hill Cider as the most economical tipple available from the regular bar offerings.

A cold pint of this 6% strength cider comes in at £6.50, translating to only £1.91 per unit. This edges out its runner-up, the Brothers Festival Cider, which sits at a pricier £2.72 per unit.
