viewers have pointed out a glaring issue with how Joe Tate's attempted murder storyline is playing out, and they're all saying the same thing.
Earlier this month, (played by Ned Porteous) was pushed out of a window at Home Farm and left for dead, with a list of nine suspects all having sizeable motives for wanting him to suffer. Despite the soap building up the incident to be a huge 'whodunnit', it was revealed just days later that (Olivia Bromley), who was having an affair with Joe, confessed to the crime, revealing she pushed him after finding out that he threatened her daughter.
While things seemed to be touch and go for Joe following the fall, the organ-thief is now recovering in the hospital after suffering a brain bleed. In fact, viewers have been left confused by just how well the dodgy businessman is bouncing back from the brink of death.
Taking to social media to share their thoughts, one user wrote on Reddit: "So, after over a week when Joe was pushed out of the window, he is now sitting up, looking well and yet he is still causing trouble." Another person wrote on X, formerly Twitter, "Joe's face has healed very quickly." While someone else quipped: "Oh look..A few days after Joe was on deaths door with a bleed on the brain he is now sitting up chatting and stuffing his face..Hotten General must be a world leading Institution in medicine..."
A fourth cheeky viewer added: "Joe has made a remarkable recovery. He should be running around in a couple of days." And a fifth user wrote: "Joe making a miraculous recovery as we all expect."
Despite Dawn admitting she was the one who shoved her lover out of the window, Joe maintains he's still in love with her and has gone to great lengths to protect her, going as far as putting his half-brother Noah in the firing line. During Friday's (May 16) instalment of the ITV soap, Joe said he would tell the police that Noah pushed him out of the window if he didn't retract his statement about the limo crash.
Fans will remember that Joe accidentally caused the crash after drugging Noah in a plot to steal his kidney.
One of the limos swerved as a disorientated Noah stepped out into the road and crashed, resulting in the deaths of Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough), Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) and Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson). Noah eventually agreed, but told Joe it would cost him and took his money. In the Woolpack, Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) was devastated upon learning that his mum won't get justice as Joe will walk free.
(Emma Atkins) was disgusted when she learned Noah took Joe's money, declaring that her son is a "Tate".
The plot left fans less than intrigued and flocked to social media to demand that bosses scrap the storyline. One wrote: "This storyline with Mr Dubai is so boring! It should've ended with him being dead!" "Stop this Joe storyline," another fumed. "It is absolutely banal."
Emmerdale is usually available to watch weeknights from 7.30pm on ITVX.
