Benjamin Sesko has pulled no punches over speculation linking the RB Leipzig forward with a move to Arsenal. Sesko, 21, is currently one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe, having again started the season well in Germany.

It follows a summer where the Slovenian international was expected to arrive at the Emirates, despite failing to score at Euro 2024.

But although his agent Elvia Basanovic travelled to north London for Arsenal's win over Chelsea in May, a transfer never materialised.

And ahead of his club hosting Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday, Sesko was blunt when asked about his future. "I won't comment on transfer speculations," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I am happy in Leipzig, and for this reason, I've recently extended my contract. I want to make big things here, and Leipzig want to improve. I want to accompany the team on this intriguing path."

After scoring 18 times in Germany last season, Sesko recently signed a contract extension with Leipzig. The new deal runs until June 2029, but is widely perceived as an insurance move by the club to avoid losing him for a cut-price fee.

His refusal to openly court a move for Arsenal could be attributed to the forward also being linked with a move to Italy. And tellingly, the star lauded the standard of Serie A, with Leipzig also facing Inter Milan in the new Champions League league phase in Europe this season.

"It's always been among the best in Europe, and your players have great European experience," he said. "This is why games against Juventus and Inter are intriguing for us. We want to do well.

"Every game gives motivation, but Juventus and Italian football, in general, are famous for defensive solidity. The Bianconeri are strong in this regard but also unpredictable in attack. However, we have clear ideas and know how to hurt them."

Sesko scored in his side's last outing in the competition, a 2-1 defeat at Atletico Madrid. He already has four club goals to his name this season, helping his club to an unbeaten start in the Bundesliga.

And he's seemingly bounced back from a disappointing Euro 2024 tournament, where he failed to score for his country in four outings. One of those clashes came in the group stage 0-0 draw with England, with Slovenia eventually losing to Portugal on penalties in the last-16.
