Qatar Airways Bans Passengers from carrying Walkie-Talkies in Lebanon Flight

Qatar Airways has announced a ban on passengers carrying pagers and walkie-talkies on flights departing from Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport. This decision follows a series of deadly explosions involving walkie-talkies in Lebanon. The restriction applies to both checked and carry-on luggage, as well as cargo, and will remain in effect until further notice.

In a statement posted on social media, the airline confirmed, "Effective immediately: As per the directive from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of Lebanon, all passengers flying from Beirut are prohibited from carrying pagers and walkie-talkies on board. This ban includes both luggage and cargo and will be enforced until further notice."

The ban comes in the wake of recent explosions in Lebanon, where at least 20 people lost their lives and over 450 were injured. Rescue operations are ongoing as authorities work to address the aftermath of the blasts.

In related news, Israel’s Defense Forces (IDF) have launched strikes targeting Hezbollah's infrastructure in Lebanon. The aim is to diminish Hezbollah’s capabilities and restore security to northern Israel. Israel’s Defense Minister also declared that the military is entering a new phase of the conflict, focusing on the northern front to ensure the safe return of displaced communities.
