Operation Sindoor was a joint operation by the Indian Army and Indian Air Force using precision strike weapons, carrying out attacks on multiple targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The attacks used precision strike weapon systems of all three services of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, including loitering weapons. The coordinates of the attacks on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir were provided by intelligence agencies. The attacks were carried out from Indian soil.
According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been keeping a close watch on Operation Sindoor throughout the night. The attack on all nine targets was successful.
India said, "Our actions have been focused, measured and non-provocative. No Pakistani military installations have been targeted. India has displayed great restraint in the selection of targets and the manner of execution."
The attack comes nearly two weeks after the barbaric terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which Pakistani terrorists shot dead 26 civilians at a tourist spot.
Minutes after India announced the strike, the Indian Army posted on Twitter, "Justice done. Jai Hind."
The Pakistan military on Wednesday confirmed that Indian missile strikes targeted three locations inside Pakistani territory - Muzaffarabad, Kotli and Ahmad East area of Bahawalpur, reports Express Tribune.
According to Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, a child was killed in the attack, while a man and a woman were seriously injured. During a late night press conference, DG ISPR said, "A short while ago, India carried out air strikes on three locations in Ahmed East area of Bahawalpur, Subhanullah Masjid, Kotli and Muzaffarabad."
