Warning - this article contains major spoilers for Sinners.
Sinners, currently gracing the big screen, is shaping up to be one of 2025's most unexpected blockbusters.
The historical horror epic unfolds in the Deep South during the 1930s and centres on twin brothers Smoke and Stack (portrayed by Michael B Jordan), who return to their hometown to launch a new juke joint.

Upon reuniting with their cousin, Sammie 'Preacher Boy' Moore (Miles Caton) and their former flames Annie (Wunmi Mosaku) and Mary (Hailee Steinfeld), their grand opening is crashed by a menacing group of uninvited guests, reports .
Helmed by Ryan Coogler, the celebrated director behind Fruitvale Station, Creed, and Black Panther, Sinners is already being hailed as one of the standout films of the year. But could there be a sequel?

Cinema-goers are being urged to stick around through the credits as Sinners boasts not just one but two bonus scenes after the final act.
By the film's conclusion, Smoke and Sammie have survived the onslaught led by the vampiric Remmick (Jack O'Connell), but Stack and Mary fall victim to his curse.
60 years following the events of the film, Sammie is a renowned blues musician in Chicago with his own club and receives a visit from Stack and Mary, who haven't aged a day.
He's offered the chance to join them in immortality but declines, before Sammie agrees to play them a tune and tells Stack that the day before the attack was the best day of his life, asking his cousin if he felt the same.
Stack concurs, noting it was the final time he conversed with his brother, basked in the sunlight, and experienced true freedom.
After the extended credits roll, audiences are gifted with one more performance by Caton playing a young Sammie, strumming This Little Light of Mine on his guitar.
Even though there's a hint in the mid-credits suggesting a vampire escapade set in 1990s Chicago, director Coogler seems reluctant to take the Marvel sequel approach with Sinners.
In an interview with Ebony on the possibility of continuing the story, Coogler confessed: "I never think about that."
Disheartening news followed for fans who've eagerly consumed Sinners, as Coogler expressed: "I've been in a space of making franchise films for a bit, so I wanted to get away from that.
"I wanted the movie to feel like a full meal."
"I wanted it to be a holistic and finished thing. That was how I was asked all about it. That was always my intention."
Nevertheless, should Sinners become a sensation for Warner Bros in the next few weeks, Coogler might just reconsider a sequel.
Sinners is in cinemas now.
