New crime drama dubbed 'next Death in Paradise' is set to be your summer TV obsession

Enter the spellbinding universe of Daniel De Luca, embodied by Jesse Williams of Grey's Anatomy fame, who finds himself immersed in complex conundrums as the go-to "fixer" at the sumptuous Hotel Costiera in Positano, facing a predicament when a guest goes missing.

Helmed by a skilled team of storytellers - Elena Bucaccio, Matthew Parkhill, and Francesco Arlanch - and shot against Italy's stunning backdrop last year, Hotel Costiera has certainly got audiences excited for its imminent drop.

This six-part series charts the intense journey of the half-Italian, former US marine as he navigates his new role among the splendour of one of the world’s grandest hotels, with Positano's coast adding to the visual feast, reports Wales Online.

Injecting a dose of extravagance mingled with suspense reminiscent of The White Lotus, Daniel grapples with not just the trials of the elite but also the urgent case of Alice, the vanished heiress.

Solving this enigma might just be Daniel's most challenging task to date. Commencing with opulent celebrations, the series premiered under the Sicilian sun in the illustrious Taormina.

The Taormina Film Festival provided a stunning setting for an exclusive preview of Hotel Costiera's opening episode, with the ancient Greek amphitheatre offering a dramatic view and Mount Etna brooding in the background.

Securing Jesse Williams, famed for his portrayal as Daniel "DD" De Luca, was a coup for director Adam Bernstein who expressed his excitement: "It's an amazing opportunity for me to work with Jesse Williams on Costiera."

Bernstein praised Williams' talents effusively: "I've always admired his work – both on stage and screen, and he's the first actor that came to my mind for the role of Daniel De Luca.
