Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A major clash broke out between two groups in Gwalior’s Tiholi village under Utilla police station area over an electricity connection.
At least 9 people, including 4 women, were injured in the incident.
A video of the fight has surfaced on social media showing both sides hitting each other with sticks, punches, and kicks.
According to Ajay Jatav, a resident of Jatav Mohalla in Tiholi village, local residents had collectively set up an electricity distribution point (DP) by contributing money.

Connections were taken from this DP by both Jatav community members and others, including Rajesh Kushwah, Sheru, Sanjay from the Kushwah community, and Kailash Batham, Rakesh Batham, and their family members.
A month ago, the DP got damaged due to heat and overload. Villagers once again contributed funds to install a new DP. They asked all the people with connections from the old DP to contribute 10% of their electricity bill amount to buy the new DP.

Three days ago, Jatav Mohalla residents installed a new DP, but soon after, Rajesh Kushwah and Kailash Batham, along with their supporters, returned and tried to reconnect their lines to the new DP without contributing money.
When local residents objected, the argument turned violent. Both groups attacked each other with sticks and fists. Injured people from both sides later went to the police station and filed complaints against each other.
The Kushwah and Batham group alleged that they were beaten without reason and even attacked inside their homes, claiming their connection was being unfairly removed.
Utilla Police Station In-charge Shivam Singh Rajawat confirmed the clash, saying both groups have accused each other. Police are investigating, and medical checks of the injured have been carried out. Action is being taken against both parties.
