Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Following the recent bust of a major MD drug syndicate in Bhopal, the Crime Branch has launched a crackdown on the city’s nightclubs and pubs.
The campaign is part of a wider anti-drug initiative aimed at dismantling supply chains and preventing the use of synthetic drugs by youths at nightlife hangouts.
Here, it is worth mentioning that the arrested drug syndicate kingpin, Yaseen, confessed to organising night parties at clubs and pubs where youths danced for long hours after taking drugs provided by syndicate members.
The Crime Branch has started issuing notices to club and pub owners across the city, directing them to conduct mandatory background verification of managers, bartenders, bouncers, and support staff, both internal and external. Special focus is being placed on identifying individuals with any criminal history, especially those linked to drug-related offences.Police officials said that all nightclub and pub employees will have to undergo police verification.
Moreover, employees associated with known drug offenders are being thoroughly scrutinised.
