Palghar, Maharashtra: A tragic incident unfolded in Nalasopara East on June 20, where a 17-year-old girl, identified as Sonali Chandraprakash Sharma, died by suicide at her residence. The incident occurred around 5 pm at Bhavana Sadan Building, near JD Ideal School in Nalasopara East.
According to the preliminary investigation by Achole Police, the girl was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her bedroom using a scarf. Her father, Chandraprakash Sharma, a local resident, reported the incident to the police.
Following the discovery, Sonali was rushed to Bengali Hospital in Vasai West for emergency treatment. However, doctors declared her dead upon examination. Post-mortem formalities have been completed, and no external injuries or signs of foul play have been found.

The case has been registered under section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (Indian Penal Code equivalent), which pertains to unnatural death. The police confirmed that no complaint or suspicion has been raised against anyone by the family members. Fingerprint analysis and DNA samples have been taken as part of the standard procedure.
Authorities have ruled out any foul play at this stage, indicating it to be a clear case of suicide. The investigation is ongoing to ascertain any underlying reasons that may have led to this tragic incident.
