Send Push
The Delhi Traffic Police issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for the areas surrounding the Saket Court Complex, coinciding with the Bar Council elections scheduled for the day. The advisory aims to manage increased vehicular movement and prevent congestion due to the expected large turnout of advocates and officials for the polling process.

To guarantee hassle-free travel in the impacted districts, major traffic controls have been set for the Bar Council elections, which are scheduled from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. All day long, there will likely be a lot of traffic on the routes that surround the Saket Court, such as Press Enclave Road, MB Road, and Sheikh Sarai–Hauz Rani Road. To alleviate traffic congestion, the Delhi Police have increased their manpower and implemented detours.

Key traffic restrictionsIt is anticipated that traffic, particularly private automobile traffic, will be restricted in the Saket Court area. Only cars with good cause and necessary services will be permitted entry close to the court. Private vehicles may be diverted based on traffic conditions, but DTC buses and large vehicles will be permitted on Press Enclave Road. To avoid traffic jams, parking restrictions are also being implemented in the region.

Diversions and alternative routesTo minimize delays and traffic snarls, the Delhi Police have recommended a series of alternative routes for commuters. Vehicles approaching from IIT Flyover towards Press Enclave Road have been advised to take Aurobindo Marg, proceed to the TB Hospital red light, and continue through Lado Sarai to reach MB Road. Similarly, those traveling from Chirag Delhi to Qutub Minar are encouraged to use routes via Khanpur Red Light and MB Road, thereby avoiding the congested Saket region.

Public advisory and precautionsIn addition to route changes, the Delhi Traffic Police have urged residents and commuters to prefer public transport such as the Delhi Metro to avoid getting stuck in traffic jams. Metro services to Saket and nearby stations are expected to run as scheduled. Commuters are encouraged to stay updated via Delhi Traffic Police’s official social media handles and traffic helplines.

The advisory also warns of possible congestion around the Saket malls, especially during evening hours, and recommends avoiding unnecessary travel in the vicinity of the court complex.

Security measuresThe court has been surrounded by improved security measures to guarantee an orderly and peaceful election process. Police have asked the public to avoid restricted areas, observe traffic diversion routes, and assist security personnel. Furthermore, any suspicious activity should be reported right away to the closest police officer or by calling the emergency numbers.

The Delhi Traffic Police’s proactive measures are aimed at minimising inconvenience to the public while ensuring a smooth election process for the legal fraternity. Commuters are strongly advised to plan their routes in advance and factor in extra travel time.
