The sudden passing of television actress and dancer Shefali Jariwala has left the entertainment industry in deep shock. Best known for her breakout role in the hit music video Kaanta Laga and for her participation in Bigg Boss 13, Shefali died on the night of June 27, 2025, at the age of 42. Initial reports suggest a cardiac arrest as the likely cause of death, though an official confirmation from her family is still awaited.

Shefali was reportedly found unresponsive at her residence in Andheri, Mumbai. Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, immediately took her to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival. Subsequently, her body was shifted to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The procedure was completed on June 28, and her mortal remains were later handed over to the family.

Funeral at Oshiwara crematorium
Times Now reported that Shefali’s last rites will take place today, June 28, at the Oshiwara crematorium in Mumbai. This is the same cremation ground where actor Sidharth Shukla’s funeral was held in 2021. A priest was seen at the residence earlier in the day with ceremonial items to conduct rituals before the body is moved for cremation.

Parag Tyagi, who was visibly distraught, has been seen at Cooper Hospital and later at their home as arrangements were made for the final rites. Shefali’s mother was reportedly inconsolable upon reaching the residence. Several close friends and colleagues, including Bigg Boss 13 co-contestants Arti Singh, Deepak Chauhan, Hindustani Bhau, and Mahira Sharma, arrived to offer their condolences and be part of the final rituals.

Rohan Mehra, who worked with Shefali on the yet-to-release series Class of 2020 Season 2, remembered her as a vibrant presence on set and expressed sorrow over her untimely demise. Actor Arjun Bijlani also reflected on his past interactions with her, recalling her cheerful personality and witty nature, calling her death "absolutely sad and shocking."

Investigation Underway
Mumbai Police have confirmed her death and stated that an inquiry is ongoing. Forensic experts are involved in examining the circumstances under which the actress was found. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) also acknowledged her passing and cited a heart attack as the preliminary cause.

As Shefali’s mortal remains are set to be cremated, tributes continue to pour in on social media from fans and celebrities alike, remembering her as a talented artist and a cheerful soul.
