The National Statistical Office (NSO) will release gross domestic product (GDP) figures at 4 pm instead of 5.30 pm beginning this month, the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation ( MoSPI) said on Friday.
The NSO releases both annual and quarterly GDP data.
The new time conincides with the closing hours of major financial markets in India, which ensures that the release does not interfere with active trading, the ministry added.
"This adjustment also adheres to MoSPI's commitment to transparency and accessibility in data dissemination."
GDP figures for the second quarter (July-September) of 2024-25 will be released at 4 pm on November 29.
