Bollywood superstar Kareena Kapoor Khan, known for her stunning looks and timeless charm, recently shared insights into her fitness and diet at the book launch event of celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar. The actress, who continues to maintain her impeccable physique at 44, emphasized the importance of simple home-cooked meals and regular exercise in her routine.
Strength Training Over Botox
Speaking about her fitness regimen, Kareena revealed that she prioritizes strength training, daily walks, and Surya Namaskars over cosmetic treatments. “Strength training, walking a little, doing Surya Namaskars, and doing my little works on my own rather than skin treatment and botox,” she explained, highlighting her natural approach to staying youthful and radiant.
Kareena, who has tasted cuisines from around the world, remains a strong advocate of homemade food. She disclosed that her diet primarily consists of traditional Indian dishes, with khichdi being her ultimate comfort food. “My comfort food is khichdi, and if I don’t have it for 2-3 days, I start craving it. I message her (Rujuta Diwekar) if there isn’t khichdi in the diet, I can’t sleep in the night,” she shared, adding a touch of humor to her revelation.
The Impact of a Vegetarian Diet
The actress also spoke about her experience with vegetarianism and how it transformed her body and skin. “She (Rujuta) is pro-vegetarian, and when we work together, I am pure vegetarian. My body and face transformed during that time, so I have had experiences with that and with her,” Kareena revealed.
She emphasized how simple and familiar foods have made her feel her best over the years. “My relationship with food is easy and simple in the last 10-15 years. I just go back to the same food, and I am happy with it. I don’t want to experiment with it—it is comforting and makes me feel happy.”
Cooking with Saif Ali Khan
Interestingly, Kareena and her husband, actor Saif Ali Khan, have taken an interest in cooking their own meals. However, she admitted that Saif is the better cook. “Saif is a better cook,” she confessed, before humorously adding, “I can barely boil an egg.”
During the event, Kareena also spoke about her mother-in-law, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, and the secret behind her graceful aging. “She eats toori and lauki every day. Simple ghar ka khana,” Kareena shared, reinforcing her belief in the power of traditional home-cooked meals.
On the work front, 2024 has been a fantastic year for Kareena Kapoor Khan, with two successful multi-starrer releases—'Crew' and 'Singham Again.' Fans are eagerly waiting for her next project announcement.
