Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], April 23 (ANI): Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Tuesday inaugurated key infrastructure policing upgrades in Faridkot and Moga to eradicate crime by monitoring suspicious activities.
In a post on X, DGP Punjab Police said, "Visited Faridkot to inaugurate key infrastructure policing upgrades and connect with our dedicated police personnel on ground zero. Inaugurated the Upgraded Cybercrime Police Station, renovated State-of-the-Art Conference Hall & Briefing Hall with a seating capacity of 250. Also had the honour of presenting DGP's Commendation Discs to outstanding police officers for exemplary service."
"Shared a meal over Barakhana with 300 police personnel of all ranks--a tradition that strengthens our bond of camaraderie collective resolve and espirit de corps. Engaged with citizens during a public outreach under "Yudh Nasheyan Virudh", reinforcing our fight against the drug menace. Proud of the commitment and courage shown by every member of Punjab Police Ind. Together, we will continue to build a safer, stronger, drug-free Punjab," he further added.
DGP Yadav further stated that he visited Moga to inaugurate a Smart Control Room equipped with cutting-edge surveillance systems and advanced monitoring technologies to eradicate crime by monitoring suspicious activities and exposing bad elements in real time.
In another post on X, "140 High-Tech Cameras Installed: Moga Police has installed 140 surveillance cameras--107 Bhullat cameras and 33 AFR (AI-enabled) cameras--in Moga City, Baghapurana, and Dharamkot. 24/7 Live Surveillance: The control room will monitor the district round-the-clock to track suspicious activities in real time. Vehicle & Criminal Tracking: AFR cameras will scan number plates, store data for a year, and help trace stolen/suspicious vehicles. Plans to integrate face recognition technology at key points are underway."
"Smart Response Vehicles: 12 ODR vehicles with FTHG (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras and fire-fighting tools will support rapid response. Live vehicle tracking ensures quicker deployment during emergencies. Future Expansion: An additional 140 smart AFR cameras to be installed across Nihal Singh Wala, Baghapurana, and Dharamkot sub-divisions," he further shared.
Police officers for outstanding service were honored with DGP Discs, certificates, and cash rewards on this occasion.
"Interacted with the police officers posted as SHOs and DSPs/SPs in district Moga on the Punjab Government's War on Drugs 'Yudh Nashiyen Virudh' by taking their suggestions for improvements in enforcement and prevention strategies. Punjab Police Ind is fully committed to technology-driven, citizen-centric policing which would be leveraged to keep the state safe,secure and drug-free," DGP Punjab Police further shared. (ANI)
