'Tiger Zinda Rahega' Akshay Kumar Defends Salman Khan's Stardom After Sikandar Debacle

Send Push

Just a few days ago, Salman Khan made headlines when he expressed disappointment over the lack of support he receives from the film industry — especially considering how often he’s stood by others in their time of need.

Interestingly, this statement came shortly before the release of his much-anticipated film Sikandar, which unfortunately failed to impress and turned out to be a commercial flop.

However, in the midst of all the criticism and discussions around his stardom fading, one fellow Bollywood superstar stepped up in his defense — acknowledging Salman’s massive legacy, regardless of one film’s performance.

Akshay Kumar recently commented on Salman Khan’s unshakeable stardom despite Sikandar’s failure.

During a brief media interaction while promoting his upcoming film Kesari Chapter 2, Akshay Kumar said, “Dekhiye yeh galat baat hai. Aisa hai, aisa ho nahi sakta hai. Tiger Zinda hai aur hamesha rahega. Salman aisi nasal ka tiger jo zindagi mein kabhi marr nahi sakta (Look, this is wrong. It’s not like that — this just can’t happen. The tiger is alive, and he always will be. Salman is the kind of tiger who can never be defeated in life).

The reactions

A majority of users said that Akshay Kumar is an opportunist and is doing all this just because his film Kesari Chapter 2 is releasing and he doesn’t want any negative publicity.

One user commented, “When there’s a Salman release none of these actors promote/support it. Forget movie promotions, his movie got leaked before its release, his house was shot at, he got constant death threats, noone spoke up for him but when their movie is releasing they r happy to take his name.”

Another user commented, “Film aarahi hai toh sab Naam lete unki film ke time sab gayab Thay wah re duniya.”

One user reacted, “Salman ke naam pe footage le rahe sikandar ke time kaha thay ek tweet ya ig story nahi dale Salman ke fan bewakuf nahi sab yaad rakha jayege Salman sab ko maaf kar dete hein but Salman fan nahi.”

Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie

Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of Kesari Chapter 2, which will narrate the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

The film stars Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Annaya Panday in the lead roles and is slated to release on April 18.
