Delhi Govt School: The Delhi government has announced the implementation of a major educational reform from the academic year 2025-26. Under this, now at least one English medium section will be started compulsorily in every class of every government school.
Decision taken given the demand of parents
This decision has been taken in response to the persistent demand of parents, who want their children to get the opportunity to study in the English medium. This will give children a chance to prepare better for higher education, such as science, technology, and a global career in the future.
Admission will be based on merit and interest.
Children will be admitted to these English-medium sections according to their interest and merit. The aim is to ensure that only those students are selected who have an interest and ability to study in this medium.
Special arrangements will be made for teaching material and textbooks.
Schools will be provided with appropriate textbooks and educational material for English medium studies, so that quality education can be ensured. This material will be prepared as per the standards approved by the Delhi government.
Monitoring and reporting of changes are mandatory.
To implement this policy effectively, schools will have to enter this information in their records and on government portals. Also, government officials will conduct periodic inspections to ensure that the guidelines are being followed.
