Tesco forced into urgent Christmas product recall as favourite treat 'may contain glue'

Tesco has been forced to recall one of their most popular products after it was found that the treat ‘may contain glue’.

The supermarket giant has recalled a range of their Finest mince pies, after tests revealed that the festive treats could be laced with small fragments of dried glue.

A recall notice has been issued, with recalling their Finest 6 All Butter Pastry Mince Pies (6-pack) within certain date ranges.

The announcement added that the mince pies had been recalled due to the ‘possible presence of small pieces of dried glue from the packaging’ being in the pies.

The supermarket has asked customers who have purchased the affected mince pies not to eat them, and to return them to their local store for a full refund.

The affected pacts have four best before dates - 4/10, 26/10, 02/11, and 10/11.

The recall comes just a few days after Slimming World were forced to issue a recall on a range of their products due to fears that they had accidentally been contaminated with peanuts.

In the UK, one in every 50 children and one in every 200 adults suffers from a peanut allergy, which can be potentially fatal if they come into contact with the allergen.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) and Food Standards Authority of Ireland (FSAI) have been working hard to remove all affected items from supermarket shelves.

• Slimming World Chicken Balti Biryani - All date codes up to and including BB: 22/02/2026
• Slimming World King Prawn Bhuna - All date codes up to and including BB: 05/02/2026
• Slimming World Lasagne - All date codes up to and including BB: 06/06/2025
• Slimming World Naked Katsu Chicken - All date codes up to and including BB: 18/02/2026
• Slimming World Pasta Bolognese - All date codes up to and including BB: 19/06/2025
