Strictly's Chris McCausland had one request for Dianne Buswell – but she refused

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Chris McCausland had one request for his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell – but she said an immediate no.

After an energetic Salsa left Chris breathless and drenched in sweat, Claudia Winkleman asked him: "Is it true that after last week, Chris was like, ‘Darling, can we have a slow song please?’ And then that happened! How did you find it?"

Chris revealed: "I thought anything would be easy after last week, but it’s just been a continuation. They say Strictly is meant to make me feel fitter– I feel like I’ve fallen off a horse and been dragged three miles."

Claudia pressed: "You didn’t make it easy, Dianne?" and the professional said: "Yeah we don’t make it easy. I mean, I trust Chris with all my heart and likewise, right Chris?"

Laughing, Chris said: "Yeah. I mean… Every week I say to you, ‘Are you sure?’"

Chris has quickly become favourite to win and regularly has fans in tears with his dance moves – especially as he's the show's first ever blind contestant. One penned: "I’m in actual tears at that salsa!"

Another agreed: "Yessssss Chris, it’s mad how good his lifts are, better than Jamie’s tonight in my opinion." Someone else penned: "I love Chris and I think he’s incredible, anyone who fails to think that needs to put a blindfold on and try just standing still let alone moving around a room and then dancing! How he’s doing what he’s doing is mind blowing, Diane is an amazing teacher."

It comes after fans spotted a “disturbing” blunder in last week’s episode, involving the audience. Fans spotted two pairs of legs lit up and visible throughout the entire show, just behind the judges in between blue strobe lights.

The distracting view left one fan saying: “Rather unfortunate positioning of two lady audience members on tonight. Looks like the loo door has been left open.” As another said: “The legs on show behind the judges were distracting!”

“My husband thought it was the Halloween show and that this was some bizarre set decoration,” someone else added, as another fan fumed: “I’m glad it wasn’t just me: annoyed me all evening!”

Strictly has already seen two contestants eliminated from the show this series, with Toyah Willcox and Olympic champion Tom Dean already being eliminated. Now bookies are fearing for Paul Merson's fate after he was left in the dance-off last week.

Nick Knowles was forced to pull out of last week's live show due to a gruesome double injury, but he's back this week after a period of recovery.
