A star has been brutally frank when discussing and his abilities.

Former professional appeared on the hit entertainment shoe between 2004 before walking away in 2017. Since his departure, the 48-year-old has been extremely vocal about his views on the programme. But it appears that comedian Chris McCausland, 47, is the latest celebrity to be dealt a blow from Brendan.

So far this series, Olympian , Toyah Willcox and DIY SOS star have been sent packing. Brendan, however, believes that Chris should face elimination. "Chris is probably one of the least able technical dancers out there but a lot of that is due to not being able to see what exactly has to happen within the move," he told the .

Brendan, who is , added: "On that basis, he should probably be near the bottom two, but his flair and his ability to do everything else will easily keep him out of the bottom two. Even if he wasn't in the bottom two, they [the judges] probably wouldn't send him home because what he's doing is actually quite brilliant. It was a very entertaining dance, Dianne [Buswell] has been getting the choreography exactly right."

But, Brendan stressed that Chris isn't the worst dancer on the series. Instead, a new celebrity has taken that crown following the departure of Nick who had faced a string of injuries during his brief stint. "Punam [Krishan] is definitely the worst dancer now that Nick [Knowles] has gone," he commented. New Zealand-born Cole added: "Nick's number was pretty bad, but it's a shame because I actually liked what he did."

One move from star also didn't go unnoticed after the reality star used a selfie-stick during her routine, which Brendan says "doesn't have a place," as he took a swipe at the show for "trying to be different and new." The most recent episode of Strictly saw and legend Shayne Ward and his partner Nancy Xu in the bottom two going against Nick and his partner Luba Mushtuk.

He said of Shayne landing a spot in the bottom two, despite scoring 30 from the judges: "About week four or five, there's always a bit of a shock when somebody goes from third on the leaderboard to being in the bottom two – that's pretty harsh. It means nobody has voted [for you], nobody's really enjoying what you're doing compared to everybody else.

"He's a very likable person but choreography and choice of the dance are probably what saw him in the bottom two."
