Mikel Arteta is on the verge of seeing a third huge decision in the last 12 months save Arsenal millions. Sporting director Andrea Berta is in the midst of his first transfer window at the club and it is arguably their biggest of the last decade.
For the third consecutive season, the Gunners finished second in the Premier League table. They went one round better in Europe but were ultimately beaten at the Champions League semi-final stage by eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain.
At the same stage of the Carabao Cup, Arsenal were knocked out while it was an early exit in the FA Cup. Such is the need for a trophy, Arsenal must sanction at least three marquee transfers.

One of those has already been agreed with Martin Zubimendi set to have his move from Real Sociedad announced next month. Deals for Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard are also awaiting official confirmation while Cristhian Mosquera of Valencia is being formally pursued.
Those three signings are to help bolster the depth in Arteta's squad but it is the two hopeful attacking additions that can be the game-changers. It currently looks as though Benjamin Sesko and Rodrygo are the preferred signings but Viktor Gyokeres, Ademola Lookman and Rafael Leao are still options.
If those moves are completed, the only positions to not really receive additions will be full-back and attacking midfield with their two clear reasons for that.
The emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly is one of those with the England international performing excellently during his debut campaign. While his future may be in midfield, he has nailed down the left-back spot with Arteta's system allowing him to move centrally.
He has since signed a new long-term contract, with a move to the first-team section of the club website finally arriving as a result.
An extension for Ethan Nwaneri is also on the agenda with the 18-year-old bagging 11 goal contributions during the 2024/25 season while also setting more records..
Despite those two academy stars making quite the impression, it is a different Hale-Ender in Max Dowman making waves. Having trained with the first-team squad, he has left many in awe with Declan Rice particularly bewildered by his talent.
Arteta has also answered numerous questions on the 15-year-old even though he has never appeared for the senior team. That is because, due to Premier League regulations, players who were not 15 at the start of a season cannot play.
But that rule no longer impacts him as he is now considered to be an under-16s player which allows him to represent Arsenal in the Premier League, as revealed by journalist Jeorge Bird.
The exciting teenager is capable of playing in several different positions but his best appears to be in attacking midfield. With much expected from him, he could be the perfect long-term replacement for club captain Martin Odegaard.
With £30million spent to sign him from Real Madrid a few years ago, the Gunners could save themselves that amount and more if Dowman is capable of transitioning seamlessly into the first-team just like Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly have.
It is worth noting that he will not be rushed into action with Arteta already showing caution over exposing young players to far too much football.
