Even though has finished filming that's not to say the drama hasn't stopped - especially with and Paul Antoine. The couple was one of the strongest in the experiment but after a few weeks, cracks started to show, and the glamorous bride didn't hold back when it came to her savage final vows, putting an end to their .
Paul, 30, left viewers horrified after a violent outburst that saw him punch a wall in a moment of jealousy and anger after his on-screen wife confessed to sleeping with a famous rapper, and now he's found himself at the centre of a police probe regarding the incident.
Carina, 31, noted in her final vows all of the incidents that put their relationship under strain and said: "When you punched the door because of something I said… when you exposed my private comments to Awhina and the group… when you went on that 'plan B' date and said you were 'just curious'… That was the moment I realised – you haven't grown. You haven't changed. You don't deserve me."
She then said: "You're going to have to live with that regret for the rest of your life. Goodbye, Paul,' she said. As her words sank in, Paul cried, she cried, they hugged each other but she pushed him away and walked off, leaving him shattered. Here we take a look at the drama the couple found themselves embroiled in...

During episode 20 of series 12, the couple discusses Paul's angry outburst. Carina shared that she and her husband were returning from a night out with fellow couple Rhi and Jeff. After she chose to play a certain song by a rapper, who she revealed she had once slept with, Paul reacted violently.
Paul said it left him feeling 'disrespected', and when Carina tried to apologise and cuddle up to her husband, he told her he 'needed space' and punched a hole in the wall of their apartment in an angry rage. The pair decided to go to the dinner party together the following day and Paul confessed what he had done and said: "I did something that I absolutely regret, something that is absolutely unacceptable. I lost control and I punched a hole in the bedroom door... it's disgusting and I'm still hating myself for doing this."
The experts John Aiken, Mel Schilling and Alessandra Rampolla then shared their horror at his admission, as John said: "Paul has behaved in a totally unacceptable way. There's nothing normal about that behaviour, there's nothing acceptable about that behaviour."

Paul was then held accountable in the commitment ceremony the following day by the experts, and again the groom broke down in tears as John told him his behaviour was "toxic", "inappropriate" and "unacceptable". However Carina defended her husband and put his agression down to his "strong feelings" for her and their personalities as "passionate Europeans".
The groom was put "on notice" and explained that he will be able to move forward with help from services (organised by MAFS) offering de-escalation strategies "to ensure that you don't ever let yourself do this again" and was allowed to stay.
MAFS received a lot of backlash over their decision to allow Paul to remain in the experiment, and issued a statement following the scenes to justify his continued appearance in the series. A statement from Channel 9 and Endemol Shine on the topics covered in the episodes read: "Nine and Endemol Shine Australia have treated this matter extremely seriously. Our first priority at all times has been the wellbeing and safety of the participants and after extensive consultation with Carina, she wanted to remain in the experiment with Paul. We continue to provide support for Carina and Paul.
"Nine and Endemol Shine take their obligations in respect to the health and wellbeing of the participants of this program extremely seriously. All participants have access to the show psychologist and welfare resources during filming, during broadcast and once the program has ended.
"Nine also have an additional service for participants should they like or need further individual and confidential psychological support. This service gives participants access to clinicians to support those involved in the program in relation to their experiences. This service is available to all participants for as long as they need it, it does not end."

Since the incident, it was reported to the NSW police and it was confirmed that officers from the South Sydney Police Area Command had opened an investigation. A police spokesperson said: "The matter has been referred to officers from South Sydney Police Area Command, who have commenced an investigation. As the investigation is current, police will not be making any further comment in relation to the matter." There is currently no update on the police investigation into Paul.
Paul takes part in 'Plan B' taskThe final straw for Carina was when Paul secretly agreed to participate in the controversial 'Plan B' task, where the experts tested the couples' loyalties by offering them the chance to date someone else. Paul agreed to meet his other match which caused friction in their marriage.
While it is said that Paul regrets making the decision to meet his back-up immediately, Carina is left heartbroken by his choice which she considers to be "emotional cheating". She brought it up in her final vows and said: "When I read the final task out loud to myself, my gut intuition was screaming that something was off.
"I knew I was going to say no, but I kept thinking, 'What will Paul say?' And if my gut is telling me there's even a chance he'll say yes, that's a red flag in itself. I'm not 25 anymore. I don't have time to muck around and ignore red flags when they're right in front of me."

During the couple swap week, Paul was paired with Awhina, while Carina was with Teejay. But it emerged Paul had slept with Awhina's twin sister Cleo years before his time on the experiment - and the revelation caused tension between Paul and Carina. However, Paul opened up to Awhina about his feelings towards his wife.
Things took a turn during the Honesty Letter task and Paul confessed to Awhina 'there are a few things that have been bothering' him in his relationship with Carina. He told her: "I feel like she is a bit of a snob sometimes and can come across as very judgy, and I'll be honest with you, this is giving me the ick."
"When I told Carina the reason why I knew you [Awhina], she made a comment about Cleo that gave me the ick. She said, 'I didn't know you would go for that kind of calibre." Stunned by the confession, Awhina asked: "Is this because my sister is covered in tattoos?"
"Yeah," Paul replied: "That's something that really gives me the ick because that's not who I am. I'm not going to judge someone because they have tattoos or because of where they're from. Because of all these little comments that she's made here and there, I have a feeling we may not be as compatible as we think we are.
"I'm not going to lie, I'm quite scared of how she's going to react if I ever bring those things up. Is she going to feel attacked, is she going to deflect or lose her s*** or start crying."
