The pair were said to have been living in the US, with Liam renting out a house for the pair as well as splitting his time in the UK. The two of them had been spending time in Kate's native Florida when they spent their time in a luxury property.

The Spanish-style mansion is reportedly worth $1.73 million and $9,500 a month in rent. The house is located in a gated community and has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and an outdoor saltwater pool and waterfalls.

It was reported that Kate travelled back to Florida a few days before it was announced that Liam had passed away in Argentina. Kate took to social media to explain why she left before Liam.

Liam's death was announced on Wednesday evening after he fell from his three story hotel room. Kate and Liam were vacationing in after Liam made an appearance at the concert of his former bandmate Niall Horan.

However, Kate admitted it was starting to feel a bit too long to be away from home when she posted a , where she talked about her trip back home to . She said: "I was so ready to leave. Love South America, but I hate staying in one place for too long and we were supposed to be there for five days, turned into two weeks and I was just like, 'I need to go home.'"

Liam stayed in Argentina but Kate didn't give a reason as to why. In the video she shared, she showed off her first class flight seat as she was sat in 1D - like her boyfriend's former band name. About 48 hours after the social media post, Liam was found dead after falling from his hotel room.

Police, firefighters and ambulances were seen outside of the building after the incident. Police are said to have been called to reports of a man acting aggressively at the hotel who could be under the effect of drink or drugs. A body was then found in an internal patio of the hotel.

: "We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time."
