Jack Grealish reveals he lost £500 bet with England team-mate DURING Finland match

Jack Grealish joked that wouldn't score from a free-kick in England's win against Finland - only to then watch the star net a screamer.

Alexander-Arnold stepped up to bag a sublime free-kick in the second half either side of goals from and as England to get their UEFA Nations League campaign back on track.

Grealish was standing alongside Alexander-Arnold before the right-back scored - and he revealed that he's now £500 worse off after betting his team-mate that he wouldn't find the back of the net.

“I said, as a joke, if you score this I’ll give you five hundred quid – and he just slapped it in the top bin. I owe him,” Grealish told post-match.

The star has looked revitalised during 's interim reign after missing out on England's Euro 2024 squad. His 18th minute opener was his second goal in three games but he reckons England should have won by a bigger margin.

“I think we could have had a few more, especially towards the end when the game opened up,” he added. “It was difficult at times in the first half. At the end I think we are bit gutted as players to concede from a set-piece. We needed a win today so happy with that.”

Carsley tweaked his tactics in a bid to get as many of England's most influential attacking players on the field at the same time - but the approach backfired as the Three Lions were humbled in their own backyard.

Grealish snapped back at some of the criticism directed at the interim chief, saying: “I don’t think it’s been difficult. Whatever happens with the England manager some people will always say negative stuff.

“I think before people were crying out for more so-called attacking players and we do it and it didn’t work for one game and there are a few people moaning.

“In my honest opinion I don’t get it. It can happen in games. He’s a top manager, brilliant guy and I love playing for him.”
