This was created by Seema Gets Baked, who is on a mission to help people get cooking without the effort that many dishes often require. Her 'insane' fish tacos require 'almost no work' thanks to one humble staple ingredient - the fish finger.

The chef has hailed her 'emergency fish tacos' as "a really great hack for having some insanely tasting tacos for almost no work." She added: "I keep a pack of corn tortillas and fish fingers in my freezer at all times for moments like these."

You can prepare this dish in less time it takes for the fish fingers to cook in the oven, making it the perfect easy and quick meal that still tastes delicious. And people in the comments were in firm agreement, with one person saying: "Genuinely genius."

Another raved: "We made these this evening for dinner after seeing this post this morning Seema. Absolute game changer for Fish fingers. Another quick one to add to our faves."

Here's everything you need to make this recipe, which serves two people.

Easy fish tacos

Ingredients

  • 8 -10 fish fingers
  • One tsp old bay seasoning, taco seasoning, ground cumin
  • Four tbsp mayo
  • Two tbsp sriracha
  • One small tomato
  • 1/2 red onion
  • Small handful coriander
  • Small wedge of white cabbage
  • One lime, juiced
  • 6-8 corn tortillas
  • Hot sauce of your choice

Method

Pop the fish fingers on a baking tray, drizzle with some oil and sprinkle with your old bay, taco seasoning, cumin and salt. Bake as package instructions.

Meanwhile make the salsa. Chop up the tomato, onion and corinader. Use a peeler to quickly shred the cabbage. Add to a bowl with the juice of a lime and 1/2 tsp salt, and use your hands to mix well.

Combine this with the mayo and sriracha while you heat up the tortillas in the microwave. When the fish fingers are ready, dish up your tacos with the salsa, mayo and plenty of hot sauce.
