Emmerdale fans 'work out jaw-dropping new romance' - but not Laurel and Charles

Viewers of Emmerdale believe a shocking new couple will be revealed in the coming weeks on the ITV soap.

But amid a fling for Charles Anderson and Laurel Thomas, fans don't think it'll be these two characters enjoying a new relationship. Instead some fans have predicted a partner swap twist, and that two other characters linked to the pair will end up together.

Manpreet Sharma was gutted to split from Charles recently, amid former stepson Jai Sharma's split from Laurel. Both characters will be a shoulder to cry on for each other - but could it lead to romance?

Ahead of them finding out about Laurel and Charles in upcoming scenes, fans think their heartache will lead them to romance. This might be a bit weird given Jai was Manpreet's stepson, but it hasn't stopped the soap before.

Taking to social media, one fan guessed: "So what I’m thinking is Laurel will end up with Charles, and Manpreet will end up with Jai!" Another fan guessed: "I think Manpreet and Jai will be romantically involved soon."

It comes as Charles and Laurel's affair is rumbled next week by her son Arthur Thomas. He catches the pair getting steamy amid them planning to cool things.

As they give into passion Arthur is horrified, and Laurel begs him not to tell anyone. But he ends up blurting it out later on in front of Jai, so how will he and Manpreet react?

John Sugden gets dragged into things too as Arthur makes up a lie about him. He's falsely accused of sleeping with 17-year-old Arthur, leading to a showdown with the teen's mother Laurel.

After Arthur tries to impress John with his flirting, he lies to pal April Windsor that they've had sex - only for his mum to hear. Furious, she confronts John who denies the accusations - but will he be believed?

There's more drama in the week for John too as Mack and Aaron are up to no good, stealing some smart watches. As Aaron is questioned by PC Swirling about being at the scene of the crime he feigns innocence. After no evidence is found Aaron is smug, and Mack soon suggests using Aaron's love interest John's van to get rid of the smart watches.

When John refuses to let Aaron borrow his van, Aaron puts his secret plan into motion by taking the keys to the van whilst John is distracted. Mack and Aaron secretly load the stolen smart watches into John’s vehicle, but they soon realise they have gone missing - so who has taken them?
