BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Pete Wicks suffers dance blunder with Jowita Przystal

Send Push

Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks suffered a dance blunder on Saturday's show when his George Of The Jungle themed routine nearly sent pro partner Jowita Przystal flying - but she managed a last-minute save.

Most judges praised their number, however, the snag didn't slip past Craig Revel Horwood who keenly pointed out: "There was the trip hazard, which you created" and even called some moves "uncoordinated at times".

The blunder was also spotted by eagled-eyed fans. One viewer questioned: "Did Jowita almost trip and go flying over his leg? What exactly happened there? He went for it and loosened up, so it deserves a well done."

Elsewhere, another put: "Confused by the scores for Pete when it looked like he tripped up Jowita? Thought it would've been mentioned by all the judges." Meanwhile another show watcher added: "Did Jowita trip or did Pete accidentally trip her?"

Judge Motsi Mabuse chimed in on the situation, reminding that the panel previously encouraged the TOWIE celebrity to relax more, saying: "I blame us for this occasion of what is happening here", reports .

Head judge applauded Pete's approach, remarking: "You don't take yourself too seriously, but you take the dance very seriously. You take risks - that's a risk."

She continued, acknowledging Pete's effort: "It was full of content. You attempted to do a slow-quick-quick which probably I'm going to appreciate.

"You got it slightly off but you're not going to overlook that because you really attempted to do something a little bit more out of the ordinary. I have to commend you. It's great to see you improving so well done to you."

The judges were clearly impressed during Movie Week, dishing out an impressive 26 points - with Craig and Motsi scoring sixes, while Shirley and Anton each gave sevens.

Reflecting on his George of the Jungle performance, Pete admitted: "I absolutely hate the film, but I absolutely love the samba. George loves the samba."

His dance partner Jowita praised his commitment, saying: "Any idea I picture you go with it. You never say no and you always want to be fully in. You're my number one George. Better than the movie."

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
